Living in the State of Washington gives us many things, not the least of which is a tall ship.
The Lady Washington belongs to “everyone and no one” (the office of the Secretary of State holds the deed), and is a reproduction of the original Lady Washington. Today is the final day of her mooring at the Center for Wooden Boats this summer (and her last scheduled stop in Seattle for the year).
The Lady is also an accomplished actress, playing the HMS Interceptor in the original Pirates of the Caribbean movie (a crew sailed her down to the Caribbean and back). Particularly smitten landlubbers can pay $500.00 to crew her for two weeks, just download the application here, fill it out and return it, then wait to hear back on an opening.
