Sweedish Pancake Breakfast…

Originally uploaded by Instant Hausfrau.

Every first Sunday of the Month, the Sweedish Cultural Center serves up fresh Sweedish Pancakes, liberally doused with lingon or strawberries and cream. Also on offer are milk, coffee, orange juice and a large slice of ham. Generous helpings served without pretention (and the helpful volunteers refilling the Sweedish Coffee to my caffinated heart’s desire) gave this event a warm place in my heart (and tummy).

Moon was delighted by the music and folkdancing (though eager to participate as much as to watch), and we saw children of a variety of ages enjoying the food and happy, boiserous atmosphere. Think church brunch sort of event, but with Sweedish folk music and no references to church of any kind, and you’ll have the right idea.
