Get out and skate!

Door 09 | December 9th | Lace up your skates! Even if a double axel is way out of reach, you can find winter fun falling flat on your bum at Seattle Center or on the Eastside.

Bellevue’s Downtown Park offers a partially covered outdoor arena, with skate rental included in the $8.00 fee. Bystanders can huddle under the heated pavilion and enjoying holiday music.

Seattle Center’s Ice Rink is hidden inside the Fisher Pavillion, fully protected from the elements. Admission is only $5.00 for adults if you bring your own skates (rentals are $2.00), with children 6-12 are only $3.00, while those under 5 skate for free. The Powers that Be in their Infinate Wisdom have a three children per adult rule for the rink. With centerhouse next door, hungry skaters can grab a bite (or a latte) before or after hitting the ice.

So it’s no Rockefeller Center, but who says New Yorkers get to have all the fun anyways?
