A Taste of Ratatouille…

Ratatouille PosterJust in time for a rainy Friday, Pixar’s newest film Ratatouille opens in theaters across the U.S.

Featuring Remy, a young epi-curious rat who aspires to culinary greatness in Paris, and his unlikely partnership with kitchen Garbage Boy Linguini. Prepare to be dazzled by this visual treat; reviews thus far are glowing.

Those critics who express concern that kids will not be enthralled by the subjects of culinary artistry and rats are missing the big Remy’s brother Emile checks out the onions…picture. This movie is more than a love affair with good, and good for you, food (but really, what parent doesn’t want to see their child this excited about carrots and onions?).

If you’re still concerned about the kid-appeal, you haven’t seen the effect that this bit of test animation has on Moon:

You would not believe how many times we have played the “Again!” game on that one, and I’d be too embarrassed to tell you.

Those of you with very little ones will be pleased to know that the Lincoln Square Cinemas in Bellevue is playing the movie as part of their Mother’s Day Thursdays program July 5th. Box office opens at 9:45, shows start at 10am, and concessions are brought right to your seat. A more than worth successor to the now-defunct Reel Moms. Maybe we’ll see you there?
