Worst Kept Secret in Seattle: Izilla Toys

droppedimage.pngYou already know them for their community work and sponsorship of kid friendly events, and the Best Toy Shop awards coming out their ears. You may even have seen their new space on Capitol Hill ( on 12th — just up Union from their old Madison Valley digs). And if you haven’t, well, now’s the time. There is no excuse for missing out on Izilla Toys.

Look for the friendly Izilla Monster on the sign, and head down the stairs (between Stellina’s Cafe & La Spiga) to find the new location. Carrying Ketler Trikes, Haba & Playmobile toys for the lead-scared, and Moon’s recently discovered fascination — the Calico Critters, Izilla’s shelves are well-stocked with something for every age. With their new children’s bookstore opening on the 24th & 25th, you can expect even more great selection is on it’s way (they’ll have to put something else where their books are now, right?).

On a recent visit to pick up a birthday present, we were not only offered use of the great 20% off coupon from the newsletter (we’re subscribers now!), but Moon was given a special birthday card good for $5.00 of purchasing power in the store (yes, Moon’s third birthday is next week — how did that happen?). That kind of supreme customer service will have us back for our Christmas shopping, too.

And for those of you with older children, don’t forget the allowance days — once a month, kids spending their own allowance money get 15% off the purchase price of any item in the store (and 10% of allowance day sales go to local groups helping local kids).

  1. I agree. Izilla is arguably the best toy store in Seattle. Your blog is also one of the best Seattle parent blogs. Nice work.
