¿Hablas Español? 日本語を話せんか。

Sponge Language School is two years old, and to celebrate they are offering free classes this month (a great thing for us, the classes generally don’t come cheap [think $499 – $949/18 week session]).

Based on the mass of reasearch about the benefits of early language emersion and eposure, they offer songs, stories and more all in the language you and your child are learning (10 minutes at the end are reserved for questions in English).

Take your child (ages 0-4) to Spanish class on Thursdays this month. Classes are offered on the 10th, 17th and 24th and begin at 10:30am. To reserve your spot, RSVP to info@spongeschool.com with your child’s name, date of birth, telephone number and your preferred class day.

Taiko & Tea Party | Sunday, January 13th, 3-5pm, Seattle. Free and open to the public, the Japanese teachers will offer treats, crafts. and a special performance by YushinDaiko (taiko druming is a traditional art, and many American’s are familiar with Kodo, a group my ethnomusicology professor fondly called “Japanese macho drumming”). Folks wanting more information can email events@spongeschool.com.
