Full Tilt | Got paletas?

Serious Buisiness

Pinball: Serious Buisiness

Okay, in a future world that I will rule (sorry, still recovering from Dr. Horrible), the foundation of my empire will be paletas.

I first discovered the Ultimate In Ice Pop Goodness while visiting family in North Carolina (I ❤ locopops), and their earl gray & chocolate leche pop was heavenly. So when I read on the West Seattle Blog that a Paleta shop was coming to White Center, I knew I had to check it out. Enter Full Tilt.

Unassuming, but with ice cream goodness in flavors like mango-chile, horchada, wedding cake, and even vegan options. The back is lined with pin ball games and some classic arcade gems. The animal-shaped sippers lining the counter contain kids’ vitamin drinks, and they also carry a variety of soft drinks (Mexican coke, anyone?). They offer birthday parties where the guest of honor can create (and serve) their own ice cream flavor, and though the promised Dr. Who pinball game has yet to appear it still manages to delight. While a Seattle Fall may not seem like the time for ice cream, these folks are worth the trip Southward. One early review mentioned a second location in Columbia City, and one can only hope.

(Quick note: the large adult video store across the way has anime-style cartoon girls painted around the outside. If your child is a fan of Yu-Gi-Oh or somesuch, have an explanation for why you can’t go in there handy).
