Swing South for Festive Fun (And Deals) This Weekend.

This Saturday, Columbia City is the place to be for festive fun, great deals, and general do-gooding.

The second annual Columbia City Toy & Clothing Sale will take place from 9:00am – 2:00pm, with toys and clothing up to size 5T available. Expect great pricing and a wide variety of goods at this fundraiser for the Rainier Valley Cooperative Preschool, and check for $1.00 off coupons at many local Columbia City shops (how ’bout hitting that fabulous bakery for breakfast and a coupon, and then browsing the sale?). Last year, we managed a gorgeous pair of red patent-leather elefanten boots for Moon for just a couple of bucks. A steal, I tell you. (3818 S Angeline St [1 block east of Rainier Ave, just south of Genesee Ave])

Kicking off at 10:15am in Seward Park is the annual Pumpkin Push 5k & Family Walk, with costumed runners and complimentary pumpkins. The event is a benefit for the homeless, and promises a festive atmosphere and even a costume contest. (5898 Lake Washington Blvd. S)

And don’t forget to make it to Genesee dog park for Dogoween, a canine costume contest taking place from 11:00am – 2:00pm. Vendors will have food and other goodies at this fundraiser for Seattle Off-Leash Parks. Check out photos from last years’ event, should you need more convincing. (4316 S Genesee St.)
